HGTV Star Leanne Ford Lists Serene Venice, CA Refuge She Picked Up Following the Palisades Fire

This week, interior designer and HGTV star Leanne Ford and her husband Erik Allen, the co-founder of clothing brand Buck Mason, listed their organic modern in Venice, California. Though they haven’t owned it long, it has been a meaningful place to them as it came into their life after a tragedy.

Leanne shares on her website, “This project has been a true collaboration between my husband and me—a home we luckily landed in after the loss of our Rustic Canyon house in the Palisades Fire, and one that held us through a wild season of rebuilding, healing, and starting over. This was the house that allowed us to really explore the concept of bringing Los Angeles back into our lives.” After less than a of year of calling it home, they are now seeking $4.45 million for it.

Originally built in 1984, the 3,171-square-foot haven has been freshly renewed by Michael Baker of New MGMT Design and Construction, who spent three years renovating it before the Fords moved in. Due to this recent overhaul, they didn’t need to put much sweat into remodeling and could just design it to their taste. Some key changes they made included putting Portola Paint’s Roman Clay on the walls and replacing the kitchen island with a large dining table, according to Mansion Global.

The property includes a main house and a two-story guest house (currently an art studio), both situated around the picturesque saltwater pool and spa. When you step inside, high ceilings and warm, minimalist tones abound for a laidback, inviting feel. Well-placed windows and skylights ensure sunshine streams in and accentuates the sense of calm. Add in the fact that the modern is located just blocks from famed Venice Beach, and does it get more SoCal than this?

Providing four bedrooms and already primed for an artist, this could be an ideal live-work home for a creative family. Diana Braun of Compass holds the listing.
