On 30 Rock, Liz Lemon knew she really made it when she bought the condo above her own and combined them into one sweeping living space. Carrie Bradshaw and Aiden attempted to start their lives together by merging her iconic Manhattan apartment into the one next door on Sex and the City. Turning two abodes into one is no small feat, but the end result signals an ultimate New York City success story. Longtime Hillary Clinton advisor Jill Iscol has listed a set of Upper East Side apartments where a new owner can do exactly that. Sitting on the 8th floor of 955 Fifth Avenue, the side-by-side units can be bought together for $17 million or purchased separately.
The smaller of the two, Apartment 8A overlooks Central Park, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms in its footprint. The price tag of $3.3 million includes a striking oval-shaped dining room and a large picture window in the living room for soaking in the sunset.
Next door, Apartment 8B will cost $14.7 million if purchased on its own. Built to entertain, the unit is accessed via an elegant gallery, which opens onto a graciously portioned living room and adjacent dining room. It has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, with the master suite offering views of Central Park and the skyline beyond. Both apartments are a short elevator ride to the shared roof terrace.
Combining these units would create a full-floor sanctuary right above the park. Kathleen M. Sloane of Brown Harris Stevens holds the listings.
