Just two months after selling her Walker Tower condo for $10.6 million, makeup mogul Laura Mercier has purchased a new apartment only a couple blocks away. Located in the O’Neill Building, the 1,346-square-foot spread is much smaller than her former New York home, which is exactly what the French native wanted. As we previously reported, Mercier is planning on spending more time in France growing her brand abroad, but still wants to keep a small Manhattan residence. The cosmetics queen found her ideal pied-à-terre quickly and the deal closed for $2.66 million, according to the Observer.Modern features in the cozy two-bedroom, two-bathroom unit complement the building’s pre-war charm. A large kitchen boasts Viking appliances, a 150-bottle wine cooler, and custom millwork while original cast iron columns remain beautifully preserved.James Morgan and Brandon Cohen of Compass had the luxury listing.
