Sandwich, a town famous with visitors for being the oldest town on the Cape, has just welcomed a new (but very old!) listing to market priced at $2.95 million.

Located at 111 Main Street, Uplands is a Colonial showpiece with a remarkable restoration history and is one of Sandwich Village’s most treasured estates. Dating back to 1740, it’s more recent chapter began in 1984 when well-known Cape Cod antique dealer Paul Madden and his wife, author and culinary expert Diane Madden, took over the estate and made it their own. The home’s potential was clear to them, and they embarked on a restoration process that took nearly two years to complete.

They thoughtfully expanded and updated Uplands while still paying homage to its architectural origins. A first-floor primary suite was added, the kitchen was expanded, period details (such as a working beehive oven) were carefully restored, and historically inspired decorative finishes were incorporated throughout.
