Artemest recently launched Artemest Collection, marking the brand’s evolution from curator to creator. The company’s annual collections will be designed by a different interior design firm each year, offering a rotating perspective on contemporary Italian craftsmanship. The first iteration, by Christine and John Gachot of Gachot, is conceived as a dialogue between the clarity and restraint of New York modernism and the depth, tradition, and material richness of Italian craftsmanship. The Gachots, based in New York, also reside on Shelter Island, and have created a collection that is defined by restraint and intention—it’s an exercise in disciplined modernism where material honesty, human warmth, and precision replace excess.
