Olivia Newton-John, Sally Fields, and James Gunn All Once Owned This Malibu Beauty Asking $25M

They say good things come in threes. When it comes to the past owners of this Malibu residence, the theory certainly proves true: The late Olivia Newton-John, Oscar-winning actress Sally Field, and filmmaker James Gunn (currently CEO of DC Studios) have all called this cliffside abode home at one point or another.

Originally built in 1958, the home has been reimagined into a modern glass treehouse-esque structure by architect Need Veljovic-Winter and interior designer Ryan White. The creative vision fulfills a Scandinavian aesthetic, while honoring its roots. Large expanses of glass look over Malibu’s Big Rock cliffside, highlighting the surrounding nature and Pacific Ocean beyond.

The 7,000 square-foot floor plan totals seven bedrooms and seven bathrooms. Natural materials adorn the indoors and out, including premium oak flooring, stone, and antiquated brass. The centerpiece of the home’s main level is the sunken “cuddle puddle” and floating fireplace. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors fully open, blurring the lines between inside and out.

The 3.22 acre grounds include an infinity-edge pool, spa, wraparound deck, firepit, tennis court, meditation space, and three horse stalls. A guesthouse is attached via a second-story bridge and a separate farmhouse makes an ideal office space or gym. An airstream with its own kitchen and wraparound deck allows for even more overnight guests.

Adam Brawer of Compass and Aaron Kirman and Matt Adamo at Christie’s International Real Estate hold the $25 million spread.
