Hamptons Happenings

An inside look at two East End showhouses.

It’s the height of the summer season out on the East End and multiple events every day—galas, displays, art shows, athletic competitions—are luring visitors off the beaches. Highlights every year are showhouses—homes done up by gifted interior designers displaying their skills room by room. Two annual showhouses, both architecturally modern, are giving visitors a chance to view the many possibilities of lifestyle luxury.

Presented by HC&G, the anticipated 2025 Hampton Designer Showhouse, opened with a gala preview party on July 19. Set on five acres, the 9,000-square-foot home was embellished by more than 20 top interior designers. Elegant classic looks are adapted to the locale in rooms showing how draperies, wall coverings and furnishings can transform a seasonal residence into a comfortable home. Six bedrooms, eight baths, roof decks, a custom chef’s kitchen, a home theater, and laundry facilities on every floor are features of the house constructed by Town & Country Builders. Outdoors the property offers  pool lounging areas, two open air kitchens, and a two-story pool house.  The house and its creative designs can be visited through August 30.

Not far away, 15 talented designers used neutral shades and contemporary furnishings to create contemplative and cutting-edge rooms featured in the 17th annual Holiday House Hamptons, which raises funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. A reception with all guests wearing white garments launched the house, which will be open through August 17.
