Renée Zellweger’s Former L.A. Estate Is a Nature Lover’s Paradise and Currently Up for Sale

The fourth Bridget Jone’s Diary movie just hit theaters, with Renee Zellweger reprising her role as the lovable, relatable Bridget Jones for the final time. Though Zellweger has mastered the English accent and the book-turned-movie franchise has made many fall in love with British culture, the Oscar-winning actress is actually from the United States. And, with a resumé including films like Jerry Maguire and Cold Mountain, it should come as no surprise that she has lived in and around Los Angeles throughout her career.

This majestic estate spanning nearly 10 acres belonged to the famous movie star in recent years. Centered by a Spanish-style hacienda and tucked in Topanga Canyon—an area that was threatened by the January wildfires—the residence is now on the market seeking $7.995 million.

It seems like an obvious place a high-profile celebrity would feel at home. Not least of all because it is very private. Gates keep unwanted guests out, as well as natural barriers such as the rugged hills and cliffs. Once on the land, it’s clear you’ve stumbled upon a hidden paradise. Within the perimeters, there are meadows to frolic in, private hiking trails to trek, and tile and stone patios for taking in the canyon and mountain views.

The 4,414-square-foot home itself harmonizes with its environment seamlessly. According to Robb Report, Zellweger purchased the residence in 2015 and made her mark with a down-to-the-studs rebuild. Venetian-plastered arches, hand-painted Spanish tiles, steel doors, and fireplaces crafted by a European stonemason are some of the eye-catching elements that she implemented. The actress went on to sell it in 2021, leaving a myriad of luxurious spaces in her wake.

Perhaps a nature lover’s ideal California perch, Zellweger’s former haven is listed with Carl Gambino and John Bercsi of the Gambino Group at Compass.
