Tyler Perry is selling his sprawling Los Angeles estate. The powerhouse filmmaker behind the “Madea” comedy franchise and dramas like Why Did I Get Married? asks $57 million for the 25,592-square-foot home, which sits on 22.5 gated acres in Beverly Hills. According to Robb Report, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also stayed on the compound when they first moved to the City of Angels in 2020.
Perry has recently announced plans to scale back work and spend more time with his 11-year-old son, Aman. If he gets the asking price, the director will get a pretty profit from his $4.3 million purchase price of the property in 2004. That said, Perry poured millions into building the estate, dubbed Chateau Reve. Tucked behind 24-hour guard-gated security, the residence features a butterfly floor plan spanning from a soaring central foyer with sweeping, curved staircase.
From there, the nine-bedroom, 15-bathroom home offers entertaining spaces in spades, including a living room, dining room, private study, chef’s kitchen with butler’s pantry and family room. If you have a need to host any visiting royalty, four ensuite guest bedrooms are arranged across two wings, complemented by a gym with steam shower, music hall, wine storage and staff accommodations. There is also a 24-seat home theater, bar, entertainment lounge and game room.
Of course, the hallmark is the primary suite, which boasts its own fireplace, secluded deck, dual bathrooms, walk-in closet, sitting room and adjoining massage and salon rooms. The home’s many outdoor terraces overlook the estate’s pristine grounds and impressive views of the canyons beyond.
Santiago Arana and Griffin Riddle of The Agency hold the listing.
