Bob Weinstein, brother of the despicable Harvey Weinstein, has finally found a buyer for his Greenwich, Connecticut estate. First listed in 2013 for $32 million, the film producer struggled to unload the property far before his name became disgraced after horrific allegations against his brother surfaced last year. The media exec has now accepted an offer of $17 million, almost half of the original asking price and only slightly more than the $16.4 million Variety reports he paid for it in 2000.To say the home is grand would be a massive understatement. Clocking in at 12,788-square-feet, the 1916-built mansion offers six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, a tennis court, and 440-feet of shoreline. The European architectural style and romantic interiors harken to a faraway place and time. It’s easy to imagine an early 19th-century garden party taking place on the impeccably manicured grounds and stone terraces, with the belles and blokes of high society dressed in their finest. According to the listing, the historic house underwent “a top to bottom museum quality renovation” in 2012, although it’s unclear what specifically was updated.Bob is clearly cleaning house, since he recently sold his five-story Manhattan townhouse as well.
