Connecticut Designer Lee Ann Thornton Styles a Bedroom at Lexington & Co.

Lee Ann Thornton of Lee Ann Thronton Interiors designed a crisp blue and white bedroom at Lexington Company on Greenwich Avenue.  Lee Ann created an eye catching window that will be up and on display through mid-June.

Lee Ann Thornton’s design aesthetic is informed by having grown up living in NYC, CT and LA.  She seamlessly has merged the influences of one coast to the other in her original, trademark style.  Her design firm was launched in greenwich in 2003 and she specializes in both big-end residential and commercial projects.

Where did you get the ideas from for the styling of the bedroom display? I thought of Southampton summer bedrooms-romantic, luxurious and coastal. I chose to customize the items in the room which is a Thornton Designs hallmark.

Why did you choose to style it this way? Why these product choices? I chose to use some of the Lexington products/sheets to upholster a headboard, a bench and a custom lampshade. I believe in using your favorite things and turning them into anything you want. Example-sheets turned into upholstered furniture items and they looked gorgeous if I do say so myself.

How did the bedroom take form, what did you start with? It all started with the blue gingham sheets i found at lexington, the color reminded me of summer almost the color of a blueberry. I knew all other shades of blues and lovely knits from the throws would tie together the look I was inspired by.

What do you like most with the result? How the room really feels like a room you could move right into. A home!

What is your top three favorite products from our collections? I adore the sheeting collection and the throws I think are so luxurious, also the rugs seem to tie everything together seamlessly…

What is your best advice when it comes to decorate at home for summer? Mix lots of shades of the same color…For example-blues in  a range from navy, indigo, powder to teal….It keeps things calm and serene but interesting and layered at the same time.

What will be your next purchase for your home? A new pair of lamps for my living room in a tie die blue pottery!!! So chic…
