Designer Anthony Baratta’s Long Island Home Is Available to Rent This Summer

It’s always a treat to get a glimpse into an interior designer’s own dwelling. Last year, the Long Island home of renowned designer Anthony Baratta—CTC&G‘s 2021 Innovator Award recipient known for infusing spaces with color and pattern—was featured in HC&G. Rather than daydreaming about this property while flipping through the pages of the magazine, one lucky renter will actually get to live in Baratta’s Flanders, NY home this summer. It’s making a splash on the market, available from Memorial Day through Labor Day for $55,000.

The designer bought the two-bedroom, two-bathroom residence in 2013. With the black exterior and muted interiors, this project stands out from his others. “I thought it might make sense to take a different path. I also had a lot of pieces, like my leopard sofa, that suggested a mellower palette,” the designer told HC&G. Though, the red door definitely gives it that signature Barratta stamp.

The four-and-a-half-acre property boasts a swimming pool and has a detached garage, which is actually the headquarters of Anthony Barratta, LLC. Situated where the North Fork meets the South Fork, the spread is conveniently located between the best of the East End—vineyards, farms, beaches, and the glamorous Main Streets. “It’s in the middle of the Pine Barrens,” Baratta says. “A friend of mine calls it ‘Pine Barrens chic.’”
