For the 15th year, international galleries and auction houses celebrated Asia Week New York, displaying art from every corner of the Far East. Twenty-eight galleries from Chelsea to the Upper East Side showed rare and spectacular porcelain, textiles, paintings, ceramics, sculpture, bronzes, prints dating from the second millennium BCE to the present.
A daily calendar of viewings, auctions, and lectures included an annual reception at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Mingling guests sipped cocktails, sampled hors d’oeuvres, and enjoyed after hours visits to museum galleries showing Chinese Painting and Decorative Arts and arts of Ancient China, Korea, Japan, India, South and Southeast Asia.
