Ellen DeGeneres Lists Gorgeously Renovated Cotswolds Residence for £22.5M

Expert house flippers Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, who have beautified properties all over California, know exactly how to bring a property to its full potential, and fast. So, it’s no surprise that these skills came in handy when they decided to move across the pond.

The duo purchased this bucolic estate in Oxfordshire in spring 2024 and gave it a major makeover with the intent to stay a while. However, according to the Wall Street Journal, they knew space for de Rossi’s horses was essential and the property lacks stables and pastures. They’ve found a more contemporary estate in the area to better suit this need, and now this stunning compound is up for sale.

Listed for £22.5 million, roughly $30.5 million USD, Kitesbridge Farm spans 43 rolling acres and holds a circa-1700s main house, as well as multiple other structures. Per the Architectural Digest, the duo brought in 70 contractors for their renovations, which were estimated to take 12 to 18 months but got completed in a mere five months. Their secret sauce to get that done, and to the impeccable quality they have, is something many design professionals would surely love to know.

The historic main house hugs a verdant courtyard filled with long grasses swaying in the breeze: A picture-perfect rural English scene. Meanwhile, glass and steel windows and doors hint at the chic updates made inside. The interiors are well-balanced—light yet rich and effortlessly airy with a focus on texture rather than color. Neutral tones and a mix of soft and rugged materials create a warm yet fashion-forward atmosphere. Very modern-day Cotswolds. They also hold six bedrooms.

Further afoot, there’s a two-bedroom guest house and a converted granary, which now has new life as a garage and party barn. Tapping into the local culture, it holds a pub but is also a wellness sanctuary. You can go from having a swim in the heated indoor pool to having a pint in minutes, or work out in the gym each morning and freshen up with the shower facilities and changing room. Clearly, this isn’t your average Oxfordshire farm, and there’s even a helicopter shed for a new owner’s posh, aviation needs.

Andrew Barnes and Marcus O’Brien of Sotheby’s International Realty hold the listing.
