It’s never too early to dive into planning for your winter getaway. View the gallery to learn more about the design details of one iconic Palm Beach hotspot, The Colony Hotel.
The Colony Hotel’s iconic pink facade is painted in Farrow & Ball’s “Colony Pink.” The hotel sits just footsteps from Worth Avenue and a block to the beach.
Guests enter into the “Living Room.” In celebration of the hotel’s 75th Anniversary in 2022, Kemble Interiors redesigned the guest rooms, which are designed in three different schemes of select colors, textiles, and art.
The six-story hotel features custom-designed de Gournay murals near the elevators on each floor. Palm trees, flamingos, alligators, and monkeys—of course—are among the hand-painted scenes.
Guest rooms are complete with Schumacher fabrics and Matouk linens.
The Colony Hotel owner Sarah Wetenhall collaborated with Society Social founder Roxy Owens to conceptualize a capsule furniture collection “Society Social for The Colony Hotel.” The collection includes the Two-Martini Pedal Chair (shown here), as well as tables, stools, headboards, sofas, and dressers.
Of course, pink is one of the three colorways implemented by Kemble Interiors. “Under Sarah Wetenhall’s direction, The Colony Hotel honors the unique aesthetic of this beloved island by staying true to the classic flavor of Palm Beach,” says Mimi McMakin, Kemble Interiors founder.
Custom paintings by artist Sarah Boyts Yoder, curated by Voltz Clarke Gallery, adorn the guest rooms.
Outdoor furnishings from Brown Jordan beckon poolside. Lounge chairs and dining tables are from the brand’s Calcutta collection.
In January, the Colony unveiled the Chairish Villa. The 1,624-square-foot space accommodates one king bed and two queen beds. “From the onset, Chairish and The Colony Hotel’s design intentions were in complete harmony to create an unforgettable retreat that honors Palm Beach’s design history in a modern and fresh way,” says Anna Brockway, the co-founder and president of Chairish. The space features art from 20 global artists, fixtures and lighting from Kohler’s Occasion Collection, and Schumacher Hospitality fabrics and wallcoverings.
The goop Villa at The Colony Hotel opened in 2023 to celebrate goop’s 15th anniversary. Interior designer Ronen Lev brought the 2,524 square-foot space to life. A goop x Fromental botanical wallpaper graces the walls, while the palette includes rattan, marble, mohair and shades of blush, gray, seafoam, and green.
