An IDA-Winning Montauk Estate with Striking Interiors and Grounds Pops Up for Sale

A design-pedigreed Hamptons home can be all yours before the summertime, that is, if you have $7.995 million to spend. Not only does it sit just a block from the water, it also boasts beautifully and brightly designed interiors by Ghislaine Viñas and a modern pool villa designed by LaGuardia Design Group. And, if the latter aspect looks familiar, that’s because it won an award at the Hamptons Innovation in Design Awards in 2016.

Starting with the fundamental details, however, the 5,500-square-foot residence was built in 2010 and reimagined in 2014. With a shingle-style facade, mahogany decking, and a rotunda, it’s exterior has many quintessential elements of an East End luxury estate. Inside, though, Viñas incorporated saturated splashes of color throughout, while maintaining clean lines for a crisp, artful feel.

Many Hamptons homeowners have a revolving door of guests during the high season, and this luxe escape is ready for that. With six bedrooms and nine bathrooms, there is plenty of room for family and friends. Plus, entertaining spaces include a large white kitchen (with fun sprinkles of green), a dining room, a great room, media room, wine cellar, and staff quarters.

The award-winning pool house designed by LaGuardia Design Group is a getaway within the getaway. The firm won first place in the Small Space Design category at the Hamptons IDAs for the cool glass cabana and wood arbor, with designer Matthew Patrick Smyth even calling it “the perfect summer pavilion.” It’s complete with modern seating and dining areas, a T.V. lounge, kitchen, private spa, bathroom, and surfboard storage, which may come in handy with the beach right nearby.

Yorgos Tsibiridis of Compass holds the masterful Montauk listing, which combines traditional Hamptons touches with playful, unabashed design.
