The sellers of Donald Trump’s former waterfront estate in Greenwich, Connecticut are still on the hunt for a buyer. It’s been on and off the market since 2014, way before Trump even started campaigning for president. Back then, it wanted $54 million, but it has gone down in price several times since then. And, none more than this recent re-listing. New on the market with Brown Harris Stevens and priced at $29.9 million, a rep for the firm shared, “We believe the new price under $30 million and the strong market in Greenwich creates a compelling opportunity for potential buyers.”
The former president and his ex-wife, the late Ivana Trump, acquired the estate in 1982 and it went to her after their divorce in the 1990s. By 1998, it was officially out of Trump-related hands and has belonged to the current owners ever since.
As would be expected looking at the family’s Trump Tower penthouse or Mar-a-Lago, Trump’s one-time Connecticut estate is extravagant. Starting with the property site and size. Beyond a guarded gatehouse, 21 Vista Drive spans about 5.8 acres on a private peninsula, with two legal waterfront lots offering 750 feet of water frontage. It has a dock for boating, two pools (one inside, one outside) for unwinding, and a tennis court to round it out.
Within the immense 19,786-square-foot mansion itself, the sellers seem to have made spaces more understated and neutral to attract buyers. In previous listing photos, rooms appeared far more traditional and flashy with details such as green carpeting going down the foyer’s imperial staircase and a glitzy chandelier above. Lavish yet outdated elements have been largely pared back, allowing the circa-1939 manor’s architectural bones and water views to shine.
Rob Johnson of Brown Harris Stevens holds the listing with 11 bedrooms and 15.5 bathrooms in total.
