Drew Barrymore Finds a Buyer for the Westchester County Compound She Lovingly Renovated

Many noteworthy gems have come to market in Westchester County and Southern Connecticut already this year, from Kathie Lee Gifford’s $100 million estate in Greenwich to Pete Davidson’s bucolic sanctuary in North Salem. In March, Drew Barrymore got in on the action, too.

The talk show host and A-list actress listed her charming, circa-1747 compound in Harrison, New York just 45 minutes from Manhattan. This was after she proudly renovated it to her personal taste, which seems to have struck the right note with buyers. In less than two months from listing for nearly $5 million, the 11.8-acre compound is now in contract for an unknown price.

So, what may have enticed the mystery buyer? Truly, any number of things. Perhaps it was the blend of coziness and ample natural light, which was essential to Barrymore during the remodel process as she spends so much time blocked in by buildings in New York City. It could also be the home’s antique character and quirky touches that were lovingly preserved and bolstered by the celebrity seller, especially with the fabrics and wallpapers she chose. Countryside grandma-chic in the best way.

If it wasn’t the home’s decor that reeled someone in, however, perhaps it was the estate’s immense versatility. Amidst trees that have stood for decades if not centuries, the main house offers four bedrooms and a plethora of enchanting spots for unwinding or entertaining without a neighbor in sight. The idyllic pool house also brims with possibilities—providing a living room, kitchen of its own, one bedroom, and one bath. One more cottage, also outfitted with its own kitchen, holds the final bedroom.

Barrymore purchased the historic home in 2024, so didn’t live here as long as her former Hamptons retreat, but she left her mark. Of her hands-on renovation, the star told RUE Magazine, “It became this obsession of a canvas.”

Kori Sassower and Brian K. Lewis of Compass brought the property to market.
