Francis Ford Coppola’s Former Hollywood Hills Home, Where Director Gia Coppola Grew Up, Wants $2.25M

A prominent Los Angeles family is looking to hand off their Spanish-style home, which has been in their family for 31 years. Filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola purchased this ivy-clad property in 1994 and sold it to his daughter-in-law, costume designer Jacqui Getty, who raised her now-famous director/screenwriter daughter, Gia Coppola, there.

The beguiling abode is tucked in Whitley Heights, a neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places. Over the years, the enclave has attracted a variety of celebrities, including Charlie Chaplin, Bette Davis, and Rudolph Valentino. Many high-profile guests have even gathered at this specific address, as the family hosted gatherings with the Smashing Pumpkins, Demi Moore, Leonardo DiCaprio, the Olsen twins, and fashion designer Nicolas Ghesquière.

Holding three bedrooms and four bathrooms, the residence is just 1,931 square feet. It only makes sense that a creative family would have a home full of such character: Plaster walls, vintage tile, arched doorways, antique hardware, French doors. Outside, the grounds include gardens, courtyards, and a swimming pool. A detached garage has been converted into a guest suite.

The now-38-year-old Gia Coppola, known for her work on The Last Showgirl and Palo Alto, was four years old when she moved into this home, according to New York Post. Getty is the seller and Kristal Moffett of Compass holds the listing, which is only asking $2.25 million. Not bad for Hollywood Hills.
