Susie Hilfiger Finally Sells Sprawling Greenwich Estate in Town’s Largest Residential Sale Yet of 2023

While Susie Hilfiger and her ex-husband, fashion icon Tommy Hilfiger, are no longer together, they still seem to be in sync on some matters. During the pandemic, they both listed sprawling homes in Greenwich, Connecticut with the designer fetching $45 million for his abode. It has taken Ms. Hilfiger longer to find a buyer for her luscious property, but she has finally sold it for $15 million.

While this great sum has set the bar for the 2023 Greenwich market by becoming the largest home sale of the year, it isn’t quite what the seller was hoping for initially. Hilfiger first listed Denbigh Farm for $40 million in early 2021 and the most recent asking price before it sold was $17.995 million.

Listing agent Janet Milligan shares, “The market dictated the price adjustments. When we launched the property, it was during the height of COVID and the average sales price in Greenwich had gone up, but the market has since stabilized.”

Now entering a new era with its next owner, the 17.2-acre estate is primped, polished, and ready to shine. Its traditional spaces boast elegant nods to English country style as well as special pieces of history. The main house dates back to the late 1700s, brimming with antique details like a marble mantle in the ballroom that once lived in the former residence of the Hermes family in Paris. Wandering outside, you’ll next come across several guest houses, equestrian facilities, a pool, a playhouse modeled after Mount Vernon, and beautiful formal gardens perfect for dainty al fresco soirees.

Across the property, there’s an enchanting yet stately air. No stranger to hosting important figures, the estate used to welcome The George Bush family frequently when it was owned by Joseph Verner Reed, Jr. Perhaps the new owner will enjoy showing it off, too.
