This Palm Springs Retreat Asking $7.7M Could Remind You of The Beverly Hills Hotel

The Beverly Hills Hotel, best known for its privacy and retro pink and green color palette, has long been an iconic cornerstone of Los Angeles. And, over an hour east of the illustrious spot sits Palm Springs, another center of resort-like living and whispered Old Hollywood stories.

Currently, a listing in Palm Springs seems to harken further to the hotel. From its flashy pink accents inside to its lush and private landscaping outside, the design is serves up personality and discretion. While it looks like a midcentury gem, it was actually built in 2012 and it’s asking $7.69 million.

Commissioned and designed by Sean Lockyer, AIA of Studio AR&D, the oasis is one of his earliest creations in the area. Staying true to Palm Springs style, walls of windows wrap around the central pool, bringing to mind the famed ‘Poolside Gossip’ photo by Slim Aarons.

“The goal with this project was to blend modern elegance and iconic mid-century architectural techniques,” said Lockyer. “By implementing classic mid-century nods like floor to ceiling expanses of glass, aggregate block construction, and a cantilevered steel roofline, the residence is unable to be dated and could easily be misjudged in age.”

The indoors effortlessly melt into this outdoor splendor, especially in unusual places like the primary suite’s opulent bathroom. Spanning across 7,000 square feet, there’s also no shortage of room for hosting. All the living spaces sit together in front of the main entrance, while four bedrooms and four ensuites sit down separate hallways to maximize privacy. Other amenities on the property include a designated champagne room and four-car garage.
