Fashion designer Lisa Perry’s Manhattan penthouse is back on the market with a new price tag of $19 million, less than half of the $45 million asking price it had when she and her husband, former hedge fund manager Richard Perry, first listed it in 2020. That’s quite the discount for those with millions and millions to spend, yet still an increase from what they paid for it. According to the New York Post, the couple picked up the spacious trophy property in 2000 for $10.9 million.
The four-bedroom penthouse spans 6,600 square feet, with another 6,000 square feet of terraces overlooking the East River and Manhattan skyline. Perry’s love of fashion, art, and color can be seen throughout. White fills much of the penthouse, from the walls and glossy floors to the sweeping circular sofa beneath the skylight, giving the interiors a bright, gallery-like feel. Against that simple backdrop, Perry’s collection of colorful Pop Art and graphic works takes center stage, bringing bold pattern, personality, and a playful energy to the home while also leaving it a blank slate for buyers to decorate as they see fit.
Perry’s affinity for exuberant color and art can be seen in her other homes, past and present, as well. The designer’s groovy Palm Beach abode featured a similarly vibrant style, while she turned her circa-1962 East Hampton retreat, Onna House, into a space celebrating work by women artists and makers. It’s no surprise she brings such intentional vision to her properties and renovations. Celebrated for her unique contributions to fashion, art, and interiors, Perry was honored with the Hamptons Innovator Award in 2023/2024.
