Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson were diplomats to France, Jackie Kennedy was celebrated in Paris, recently there was the visit of President and Mrs. Macron to the White House—since the very earliest years of the country there has been lively interchange between France and America.
Celebrating the 250 years of shared interest, 65 member Maisons of the Comite Colbert have set up a commemorative and informative exhibit at the Shed. Booths describe French and American interaction in fashion, gastronomy, design, fragrance, jewelry, and more. Open to the public, Hidden Treasures, 250 Years of Franco-American Luxury Stories runs through May 31.
Below are photos showcasing some of the incredible hidden treasures featured.
