While there are many ways to get patriotic this Fourth of July, there’s no place quite like the former home of an American president to celebrate. Located in the affluent Holmby Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, this colonial revival that Ronald Reagan once called home is for sale for $7 million. On the market for the first time in 64 years, the property has no shortage of star power. The home’s stately yet inviting exterior was also featured on the FX series Feud, standing in for the Brentwood mansion of Joan Crawford. With multiple claims to fame, the 6,153-square-foot abode, alternately known as the Shuwarger house, pulls no punches in terms of drama. Designed by Paul Williams, an architect to the stars, in 1938, the five-bedroom, six-bathroom manse makes a strong first impression with its formal driveway and sculpted hedges. The interiors are no less striking, with lofted ceilings, crown moldings, wainscoting, French doors, and casement windows contributing to the sense of character. Most impressive of all, however, is the ground floor’s formal reception hall and sunroom, fed by a grand, curving staircase, as well as the master suite, which “comprises the entire southern side of the second floor” according to the listing held by Christophe Choo and the Essex & Harvey Group of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage. The .41-acre lot also offers a formal garden, a swimming pool, and a charming outdoor dining pavilion complete with a fireplace, according to Mansion Global. The Shuwarger house isn’t the only home of a former President on the market—the former Greenwich estate of current President Trump listed for $45 million in April.
