Robert Young Architects created an “upside down” house on a 40-foot bluff in Montauk. Landscape architect Steven Yavanian and landscape contractor James Grimes designed a yard that maximizes views of the Atlantic, complete with a fire pit from Houzz and Adirondack chairs from Room & Board.
Dan Mazzarini, BHDM Design principal and creative director, designed this Connecticut home with its waterfront location in mind. “We took our inspiration from the views of Long Island Sound,” Mazzarini says. Outside, a fire pit adds warmth on cool evenings.
At a fashion executive’s North Fork property, landscape architect Jonathan Paetzel designed a yard with a swimming pool and outdoor entertaining area, which is complete with a fire pit and furnishings from Brown Jordan’s H Collection.
The outdoor living room at a Greenwich home features Connecticut bluestone walls, teak swivel chairs by Gloster, woven chairs from Brown Jordan, and a woven rug from Annie Selke. Renée Byers designed the surrounding gardens.
The grounds of this Darien property, with landscaping by James Doyle Design Associates, include a a pool, gardens, and meadow. Kettal sofas flank a custom fire pit.
