Model Nicole Nagel Lists Eric Owen Moss’s First Residential Creation for $12M

California has no shortage of architectural wonders, from Harry Gesner’s Malibu “Sandcastle” to “The Whale House” in Santa Barbara, which is, of course, shaped like a whale. It also has no shortage of celebrities. Have you seen Zoe Saldana’s Beverly Hills home that’s up for sale? Or how about music exec Paul Anka’s estate in Thousand Oaks seeking $10 million? Combining the two niches, a new listing is on the market, in which a celebrity is selling an architectural masterpiece.

Nicole Nagel, a model and actress who was in ER and Suddenly Susan, is selling her Brentwood property designed by iconic architect Eric Owen Moss.  The frequently-published architect is known for his experimental and boundary-pushing designs, such as the (W)rapper building in Culver City among other buildings. This L.A. home, dubbed “Constellation 167” was the first-ever residential property designed by Moss.

The futuristic creation is a 5,476-square-foot love letter to geometry. Its smooth concrete exterior plays with curves and sharp angles, looking more like a large-scale sculpture than a single-family home. But, looks are deceiving and four bedrooms and five bathrooms await inside, as well as vast spaces with striking shapes and materials. The various levels and staircases almost make it feel like a fun house while expansive white walls give you tons of space for artwork.

Nagel made history for homeowners in 2013 by winning a legal battle against the original sellers who concealed some home defects during the sale. Following this, Nagel extensively restored the home, including the addition of a lagoon-like swimming pool.

Certain to turn heads, Constellation 167 is seeking $11.995 million. Sally Forster Jones and Tamara Bakir of Compass and Marc de Longeville at Vista Sotheby’s hold the unique listing.
