Matt Lauer is no newcomer to the Hamptons real estate game. His latest move: selling this cute waterfront cottage for $3.5M. Variety reports that the sale price was slightly below asking—it was listed for $3.995M with Corcoran’s Susan Breitenbach—but still a good deal higher than the $2.15M he paid for the place.
According to listing details, the house is 1,800 square feet and sits on a .75-acre lot with 85 ft of bulkheaded waterfront. The interiors are awash in beachy style; from the exposed beams and white brick fireplace in the living room to the bay window and pale-on-pale palette in the country kitchen. There are 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms along with an enclosed porch and wraparound deck overlooking the lawn.
Although he let go of this place, Matt Lauer is by no means leaving the Hamptons. In addition to the manor he bought from Richard Gere back in July for $36.5M, Lauer and his wife, Annette, own a 40-acre equestrian facility called Bright Side Farm in Water Mill and a 25-acre estate in Sag Harbor, currently on the market for $16.995M.
